On 30th of July 2019, the department of BCA-CT & ISM of our college had a privilege to visit Spectrum Softtech Solutions Pvt. Ltd. The session was from 9:00am to 1:30pm.
Spectrum Softtech Solutions Pvt. Ltd, Kochi, Kerala is a private limited company in with an objective of offering advanced technological solutions in the fields of Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled services (ITES).
The idea behind such a seminar was to provide a basic knowledge about various concepts of a Data Centre and to provide an abstract idea about the existing datacenter architecture and technologies used by organization. The topics were clearly illustrated using presentations and live activities. The session was very coherent and the students were able to have a very good understanding about the various topics discussed. The trainer for the session, Mr. Joseph Johnhad a friendly approach and initiated interaction from the students.The session was initiated by our teachers Mrs. Archana Menon P, Mrs.Mekha Jose and Miss. Christina Rajan Thomas.
Mr. Joseph John started the session by giving an introduction to RedHat Linux distribution. The session continued with him explaining the various elements which are used while setting up a datacenter. The requirements for a datacenter to function were briefly explained. Datacenter security issues were also discussed in the session. Various security measures were taught in order to protect a live datacenter were also discussed. An insight about various network technologies such as dial-up connections VoIP calls were also used in datacenter topology were also elaborated. Students were also taken to visit the on-premise datacenters.
