On Tuesday 27th June 2023,the Department of Mathematics and Statistics organised a Programme named “Prof. N. Dharmambal Lecture Series on Statistical Tools and Techniques for Data Analysis” led by the resource person Ms.Athira N R – Empanelled guest faculty, Department of Fisheries Ocean Science and Technology, KUFOS. The welcome speech was given by Ms. Julia Beril Sharon of 3rd Maths A and the programme commenced with a basic introduction to Statistics and its tools. The programme mainly focused on how a project is done using statistical tools and about the basic steps and techniques of Data Analysis. The session became more interesting as she presented one or two projects done by her as a reference, which gave the students a clear insight. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms.Prajnaa Praveen of 3rd Maths.
The session was useful and informative for the students. Students were familiarized with various statistical tools and techniques for data analysis. The students gained knowledge for their future projects.
