On the 7th and 8th of December, 2017, a Literary Fest was held at St. Teresa’s College (Autonmous) under the initiative of the Department of English and Centre for Research in connection with the Kochi International Book Festival (KIBF). The Chief Guest for the inaugural session was PadmaShri Smt Bharati Shivaji. Also present was Mr. E. M Haridas, General Secretary, KIBF, who chaired the session. He highlighted the importance of reading in today’s fast paced life.

Smt Bharati Shivaji shared  the experiences of her journey in her field.  She talked about the influence of each of her Gurus in her life.

 

During the penultimate session of the day, Dr. Edanad Rajan Nambiar, who is a renowned Chakyarkoothu artist spoke about Kerala’s rich oral traditions. He soon captured the audience with an amazing sense of humour.

The final session of the day was by the well-known journalist and author of Karmic Ishq – Savio Rodriguez. He spoke about writing as a powerful tool to express oneself freely.
