Prof C S Jayaram conducted two lectures on film studies and film theory for the students of II MA English on February 23rd and March 2nd in online and offline mode respectively. He conducted the session by focusing primarily on two films- Bicycle Thieves and Battleship Potemkin. He made a comparative study of the two films to explain Italian New Realism and the technique of using montages. The class was mainly based on theoretical and historical forms.
