INDUSTRIAL VISIT @ SYNTHITE INDUSTRIES LIMITED

The students of the department of management studies of St Teresa’s College were extremely privileged to have had the opportunity to visit the esteemed organization Synthite Industries Ltd.

Synthite Industries Pvt Ltd is an Indian oleoresin extraction firm, supplying ingredients to food, fragrance and flavour houses. The company is based in kolencherry, Kochi.

The visit started off on a exiting note where the speaker gave us an insight on the organization, the ups and downs faced by the founder of the organization ,Mr C.V Jacob,while bringing his dream into reality by setting up the company Synthite. The company was started up in 1972 wih just 20 employees.Further details were given in an extremely interesting introductory video about the company along with a short brief about various different aspects of the company ,the evolution, factories, products  and the short term goal of the company which is to reach a 3,000 crore turnover in the year 2020.  Synthite is a company that majorly focuses on sustainable agriculture.

Now coming to the much awaited part of the industrial visit which was the tour of the factory.The working of the massive machines was indeed a sight that had to be witnessed. The students were extremely fascinated seeing the curcumin herb which is a turmeric extract/oleoresin  which is one of the main oleoresins produced by the company.

The factory visit thus gave the students an opportunity to see the various proceedings in the synthite factory and also gain knowledge regarding the various parts in the machineries and the export-import activities done by the synthite factory.
