Inauguration of 75th Anniversary Celebrations

The inauguration of 75th anniversary celebrations of the department of mathematics and statistics was held on 14th July 2022 at 10:30 am
at the Platinum Jubilee Auditorium. The welcome address was given by Dr. Ursala Paul, HOD of mathematics department. The report of the activities held in the months of June-July was presented by Ms. Ameesha Paul, Association Secretary. Dr. Alphonsa Vijaya Joseph, Principal delivered the presidential address. The logo and tagline of the 75th anniversary celebrations was launched by Sri. Dilip K Kainikkara, the chief guest of the day. He is the 21st rank holder in the UPSC Civil Service Exam 2021. He appreciated the department’s environment initiative and stressed that environmental conservation should be done with scientific temperament.

A green initiative of the department towards UN SDG-15 in collaboration with BMC of the college- Nurturing Green – was launched by Sri. George Kulangara, Founder and Chairman of Labour India Group of Educational Institutions, by handing over the saplings to Smt. Betty Joseph ,Vice- Principal ,Head of Department of Statistics. The project was sponsored by Green World Clean World Foundation. Sri. Saju
Kurian, President of Green World Clean World Foundation , Prof. Susan John(Retd.)-President of Alumnae Association and Sri. T.P. George -PTA Representative felicitated the gathering.

A rally was conducted as part of the green initiative with the students and faculty of the department which included planting a sapling each at Marine Drive, Kochi and at PWD guest house.
