The Department Of Zoology conducted an eye camp on 10th August 2014 in collaboration with the Medical Trust Hospital, Ernakulam and Cochin South Rotary Club. The camp was conducted at Thiruvankulam Municipal zonal office. Mr. R. Venugopal, Chairman, Thripunithura Municipality, inaugurated the camp. Mr.K.V. Saju, Thripunithura Municipal Councillor presided over the function. Dr.Sr. Vinitha, Principal, St.Teresa’s college delivered the inaugural address. Around 200 people attended the camp and they were informed about the camp through news papers, radio announcements and survey conducted by the II and III year students of the Zoology Department. The people who attended the camp were provided with free medical check up and medicine. The Medical Trust Hospital conducted cataract surgeries at a reduced rate for 10 deserving patients who attended the camp. Students donated an amount of Rs. 4000/- for the same.
