CELEBRATION OF INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

The Department of Psychology in association with QK Doc, Malayala Manorama celebrated International Women’s Day on 4th March 2020. “Yes, Women Can!” was the theme of the celebration. Mrs Smitha Vasudevan, DGM, Marketing, Malayala Manorama graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The ceremony held in the Arts Campus honoured three outstanding women of substance –

1. Dr Chitrathara, HOD & Senior Consultant in Surgical & Gynaec Oncology. VPS Lakeshore,
2. Ms Ann Mary Philip a housewife turned National Kick Boxing Champion and
3. Ms Simi Elizabeth founder of ‘PACHA’ an eco friendly initiative producing environment friendly products to help reduce the use of plastics.

The program was presided over by Rev Dr. Sr. Vinitha, Director, STC and Dr Sajimol Augustine, Principal of St. Teresa’s College felicitated the achievers. Dr Chitrathara engaged a lively session on Women’s Health which was followed by Zumba and Kick boxing demonstration by the Kick Boxing Association, Cochin.

55 students from 1^st DC Psychology and 20 students from the Department of Sociology attended the program
