A Session organized by BCA(Cloud Technology & Information Security Management) on Understanding Information Security Roles in the Industry

A webinar on Understanding Information Security Roles in the Industry was conducted by the BCA(Cloud Technology & Information Security Management) of St. Teresas College, Ernakulam on 17^th September 2020 at 3 pm. The total strength of the session was 53 including teachers. The speaker was Mr. Avradeep Bhattacharya, Senior Information Security Engineer at LinkdeIn, Banglore. He has worked as Cloud Operations Engineer at Zscala and as a Storage Administrator at Texas Instruments and has about 8 yrs of professional experience. Fathima A, 2^nd year student of BCA(CT & ISM) gave the welcome note. Next was a session by Mr.Avradeep Bhattacharya about the various certifications, PG courses after BCA and so on. He also answered most of the queries. The session was really interactive and informative. He gave them information regarding GRC(Governance, Risk and Compliance), product security, platform security, SOC which will be very useful in the professional career of students. “Of course, they know theories are very important, but in practice it’s very important to use these in a productive way. That is what actual skill really conveys.” He said. Apart from certifications, skill, learner mindset, perseverance and curiosity are the most important elements that he was delivering. The department is grateful to Mr.Avradeep Bhattacharya for the great session . Above all, students expressed their deepest gratitude to the  teachers who organized such an informative event and were present throughout the session. The session ended at 4 pm by the thanksgiving note that was delivered by Roshni V S of final year BCA(CT & ISM).
