NCC activities – 2015-2016
Total cadets for the academic year 2015-2016– 52
 Assoicate NCC Officer Lt. Dr. Seleena K V attended Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) in Lakshadweep conducted by Kerala and Lakshadweep directorate.
 She got DG commendation Card(national level) for the best Associate NCC Officer .
 On 3rd May 2015, 14 cadets passed the B certificate examination
 From 10th – 20th May 2015, 19 cadets attended Combined Annual Training Camp at Bhavans Newsprint School, Velloor. They got first and second prize for group dance and group song respectively. Cdt. Shilpa P S was selected as the second best cadet of the camp. Cdt.Shilpa P S and L/Cp.lGeethu C T won first and second prize for the firing competition respectively.
 On 21st and 23rd May 2015, there was a yoga practice for the International Yoga Day at Gym Plaza. Cadets from St. Teresa’s College, Maharajas College and St. Albert’s College participated in the practice.
 From 30th May – 8th June 2015, Cdt.Suhana PN attended Advanced Leadership Camp in Kolkata, West Bengal.
 On 5th June 2015, Administrative Officer Lt. Col. Shumsheer visited our College.
 On 6th June 2015, 5 cadets passed the C certificate exam.
 8th – 10th June 2015, there was a yoga practice for the International Yoga Day at Gym Plaza. Cadets from St. Teresa’s College, Maharajas College and St. Albert’s College participated in the practice.
 On 12th June 2015, Group Commander Cmdr. S R Sridhar visited our College.
 0n 16th June 2105, a tea party was arranged in the battalion for the cadets who attended the Advanced Leadership Camp. Cdt.Suhana P N of our college attended the same.
 On 20th June 2015, the battalion organized one day camp for the international yoga day in our college. More than 400 cadets attended the camp.
 On 21st June 2015, our college was the venue of the yoga programme on the international yoga day.600 cadets attended.
 On 29th June 2015, Sgt.Linu Vincent attended an interview at the directorate for the Officers Training Academy Camp and she got selection for the same.
 On 13th July 2015, 21 cadets were newly enrolledin the NCC for the academic year 2015-2016.Our Commanding Officer delivered a talk to cadets about NCC&it’s importance.
 6th August 2015, 8 cadets helped the college authorities for the conduct of college election.
 On 15thAugust 2015, the Independence Day was celebrated in the college. The director Rev. Dr. Sr. Vinitha addressed the gathering.
 From 16th -26th August 2015, Sgt.Linu Vincent attended Officers Training Academy Camp at Madras.
 From 22nd – 31st August 2015, L/Cpl.Joanita Jose attended the Basic Leadership Camp. Also Sgt .Christeena Pius accompanied by 10 other second year cadets attended theAnnual Training Camp. Both these camps were heldat St. Xavier’s College, Vaikom.
 On 20th September 2015, 10 cadets helped for the arts club inauguration.
 10th October 2015, as part of World Palliative Care Day, cadets participated in the rally organized by DMO at Collectorate.
 From 25th October – 5th November, Cdt.Anjumol K S and Cdt. Ditty Sebastian attended National Integration Camp in Udaipur, Rajasthan.
 On 21st November 2015, as a part of NCC day celebrations, 52 cadets visited an old age home in Njarackal.
 On 25th November 2015, SgtLinu Vincent got selection for the SSB Screening test for NCC cadets held in Gwalior starting from 1st December 2015.
 On 1stDecember,Conducted a rally at Thrippunithara in collaboration with District Medical Office,Ernakulam as the part of World Aids Day.
 On 1st December 2015, as a part of AIDS day celebrations, 20 cadets participated in the rally organized by DMO at Tripunithura.

 On 9th December 2015, as a part of army flag day, NCC cadets collected contributions for army welfare fund from all departments of the college.
 On 11th and 12th December 2015, NCC cadets collected contributions for Chennai Relief from all the departments and nearby areas.
 On 15th December 2015, NCC cadets organized a function to hand over collected contributions from the college to the Director Sr. Dr. Vineeta in the presence of Commanding Officer of 21(k) NCC unit, Col. Robin Fernandes.
 On 17th December 2015, 6 cadets helped for Christmas day celebrations.
 Fron 18th – 28th January 2016, Cpl. RishanaSaffar attended Republic Day Parade associated Special National Integration Camp at Delhi.
 On 22th and 23th January 2016, 30 cadets helped for the knowledge fair.
 On 26th January 2016, 20 NCC cadets participated in the Republic Day Parade at Collectorate and the remaining cadets participated in the Republic Day Celebrations in the college.
 On 5thFebruary 2016, 27 cadets participated in the Sports Day March Past.
 On 7th February 2016, 13 cadets appeared for the B certificate exam

NCC1 NCC 2014- ’15

The NCC wing of the college, functioning under the 21 Kerala BN NCC, Ernakulam, currently consists of 42 enthusiastic and committed cadets. Associate NCC officer, Lt. Dr. Seleena K. V attended the Special National Integration Camp at Kavaratti, Lakshadweep from 18-30 April 2015. She received the DG Commendation Card from the DG of NCC. She also attended the Officer’s Training Camp in Gwalior from 20 March to 21 June 2014. Sgt. Roshni Subhash was selected as the Best Camp Climber at the national level Mountaineering camp held at Manali. She was the only SW cadet from the Kerala and Lakshadweep directorate to attend the camp. Sgt. Chitra C. B. and Sgt. Linu Vincent attended the ATC Camp at Vellore where the former received the gold medal for overall performance among Senior Wong Cadets at the ATC Camp at Vellore while the latter received selection to the Basic Leadership Camp in Agra, which she attended in January. Cdt. Archana C.P. attended TC Pre IGC2 (Inter Group Competition Camp) at Kalady, while Sgt. Christina Pius attended the RDC Pre IGC2 at Trichur and Pre-IGC at KPA (Kerala Police Academy) at Trichur. Sgt. Christina Pius also attended the National Integration Camp (NIC) at Cherthala. Five cadets, JUO Meenu Rebecca, Sgt. Pooja N. V, Cdt. Geethu C. T, Cdt. Indu R. and Cdt. Roma Varghese attended the National Integration Camp at Dehradun. 12 cadets were selected as liaison officers at the National Games 2015 conducted in Kerala. 6 SW cadets of our college received the national level Cadets Welfare Society (CWS) scholarship. 26 cadets took part in the Cleaning Programme, organised as part of NCC Day Celebrations and in connection with the national Swachh Bharat project, which aimed at cleaning the College and school grounds and surroundings. This was also in connection with the national Swachh Bharat project. The NCC unit of the college also raised funds for the Army Defence Welfare. NCC2 The NCC has an active army subunit functioning in the College. Being the single largest youth organisation in the world, NCC provides the cadets with ample opportunities to enhance their character, leadership, initiative, drive and comradeship amongst the youth. The wide array of activities undertaken by the NCC include basic training sessions in first-aid, drill para signals, home nursing, communication, map reading and weapon training. Advanced training in mountaineering, rock climbing, para jumping and cycling offer the cadets exciting vistas to quench their thirst for adventure. Apart from building sense of patriotism, it also moulds the cadets into able and smart citizens of tomorrow. Students are enrolled after a selection procedure. Those who acquire the prescribed training are given certificates, which make them eligible for grace marks in admission for higher studies – 15 marks for degree and for 5 marks for PG….read more… NCC3 APRIL 2013 19th April-28th April 2013-3 cadets participated in the Combined All Wing Annual Training Camp (CAWATC) held at Sree Sankaracharya College, Kalady. Sgt. Pooja N V and Sgt.Alda Agnes Gomary were selected for Thal Sainik Camp (TSC) and Mavlankar Shooting Camp respectively. 20th April-29th April 2013-5 Cadets attended the Combined All Wing Annual Training Camp (CAWATC) held at Bhavans Velloor.JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai was selected as the SW Camp Senior. ANO Lt.Dr.Seleena K V attended the same. MAY 2013 7th May-10th May 2013- Sgt.Pooja N V attended the the 3 day Combined All Wing Annual Training Camp (CAWATC) held at Naval Base conducted by 21Bn under Captain George Abraham. 20th May-29th May 2013- JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob attended the Combined All Wing Annual Training Camp(CAWATC) held at GVHSS, Thiruvillamala. Its a Pre Inter Group Competition (Pre-IGC) Camp for RD(Republic Day) Cadets. 23rd May-29th May 2013- Sgt.Alda Agnes Gomary participated in the Inter Group Competition Camp (IGC) prior to the Mavlankar Shooting Camp held at Govt.College Nattakam.It was conducted by Kottayam Group under Additional Director General Bishwajith Chakravarthy. JUNE 2013 4th June 2013- JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob attended the seniors meeting held in the 21 Battalion. 5th June 2013- Former President of India Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam was received with salute from the NCC Cadets for the MK Sanu Endowment Award Function. 8th June 2013- 9 cadets participated in the Tree plantation programme held in South Railway Station in connection with World Environment Day. JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and L/Cpl Silpa received the Annual SAHARA Scholarship 2012. 12th June 2013- 22 June 2013- Sgt. Alda Agnes Gomary attended the Pre-Mavlankar Camp 1 held at Marthoma College, Kottayam. 13th June 2013- JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob attended the Rifle Drill Training conducted for RD Cadets under 21Bn. 14th June-18th June 2013- NCC Cadets helped the college in the CAP Admission Process-1. 15th June 2013 and 29th June 2013-3 cadets participated in the selection process of Battalion Guards team held in the 21Bn . JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and Sgt. Aswathy Nandan were selected to Group A and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob to Group B. 25th June-28th June 2013- NCC Cadets helped the college in the CAP Admission Process-2. 26th June 2013-8th July 2013- Sgt.Alda Agnes Gomary attended the Pre-Mavlankar Camp 2 held at Marthoma College, Kottayam. JULY 2013 20th July 2013- 30th August 2013-Sgt. Alda Agnes Gomary attended the Pre-Mavlankar Camp 3 held at Marthoma College, Kottayam. She was selected for the National Level Camp to be held in West Bengal. 19th July 2013-Understanding the importance of unity and disciplinary training for youth, 44 cadets enrolled in NCC for the academic year 2013-14. 31st July – 2nd August 2013- Sgt.Pooja NV attended the Pre- Thal Sainik Camp -Inter Group Competition (Pre-TSC-IGC) Camp held at Aluva UC College and was selected to the Inter Group Competition (IGC) Camp in Calicut. AUGUST 2013 2nd August-11th August 2013- Sgt.Pooja NV attended the Thal Sainik Camp -Inter Group Competition (TSC-IGC) Camp held in Grassim Mavoor,Calicut.She represented the Ernakulam Group . 3rd August 2013-The 1st Parade of the year was held in the college. PI Staff from the Battalion conducted the parade. 53 Cadets were present on that day. 12th-14th August 2013- A Squad for 33 cadets was formed for the Independence Day parade. Practice and rehearsal sessions were held in the college as well as in the Marine Drive Ground for it. Refreshments were provided for the Cadets. 15th August-24th August 2013- Sgt.Pooja NV attended the Pre Thal Sainik Camp 1 (Pre-TSC 1) held in Grassim Mavoor,Calicut. 15th August 2013- 33 cadets under the leadership of JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai participated in the Independence day parade held at Marine Drive Ground, Ernakulam. The Hon’ble Minister of Finance (Govt. Of Kerala) K.M.Mani was the Chief Guest of the occasion. In College, Manager Sr. Tessa and the Principal Rev.Dr. Sr Teresa hoisted the National Flag and received salute from the cadets. 22 Cadets were present there. 24th August 2013- JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob attended the seniors meeting held at the NCC Head Quarters,Ernakulam in connection with the RDC training. The 3rd Parade of the year was conducted on this day. 31st August 2013- The 4th Parade was held in the college from 9-1pm. 55 cadets were present. Ranks were distributed by ANO Lt.Dr.Seleena KV on this Day. Meenu Rebecca Mathai was officially declared as the Junior Under Officer (JUO) ,Kavitha Hannah Jacob as the Company Sergeant Master (CSM), Anjana K V as the Company Quarter Master Sergent (CQMS). 5 cadets were selected as the Sergeants ( Aswathy Nandan,Chithra,Greeshma,Pooja and Alda). Corporal and Lans Corporal Ranks were also distributed.. An amount equalling to Rs 11,000/- was raised for Thritha’s Medical Assistance. She is an ex-JUO of the 21Bn and presently undergoing treatment for Brain Tumour. SEPTEMBER 2013 2nd September – 11th September 2013- Sgt.Pooja NV attended the Pre Thal Sainik Camp 2 (Pre-TSC 2) held in Grassim Mavoor,Calicut. 6th September 2013- A talk cum demonstration class by Mr.Midhunlal(SSB Trainer and Counsellor) on ‘Techniques for Indian Armed Forces Interview- Office Level Entry’ was held in the college . The class was conducted to make the cadets aware of the Service selection Board (SSB) exam and training. ANO Lt.Dr.Seleena KV gave the presidential address for the event. 7th September 2013- The 5th NCC Parade of academic year 2013-14 was held in the college premises from 9am-1pm . About 40 Cadets attended the same. 10th September 2013-In connection with the Inaugration of Post Graduation Programme (Chemistry) and the e-Jaalakam in College , 25 cadets formally welcomed the Guest of the event Adv.Kapil Sibal ( Hon’ble Telecom and HRD Minister) and other dignitaries for the function. 13th September-22th September 2013- JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob attended the Pre-Republic Day Camp-Inter Group Competition 3(Pre RDC- IGC 3)held in Vimala College ,Thrissur. JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai was selected for Drill and in Guards as Right Marker and CSM Kavitha Hannah Jacob was selected for Cultural Events(Group Dance,Drama ,Group Song and NIAP). The camp was conducted by 7Girls under Col.P K Prasad. OCTOBER 2013 6th October – 16thOctober 2013- JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai attended Pre-IGC (RD) Camp held in DonBosco Mannuthy. 14th October-24th October 2013- Sgt. Alda Agnes Gomary took part in the National Games Camp held in Delhi. 16th October-26th October 2013 – JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai attended the Republic Day Camp-Inter Group Competition held in Grassim Mavoor,Calicut. She represented the Ernakulam Group for IGC which won the runners up trophy for the event.She was also part of the Contigent Drill Competition as Right Marker which secured the 2nd Prize. She was also part of the Guard of Honour team. NOVEMBER 2013 16th November 2013- 7th Parade of the year was conducted in the college from 9 am to 1 pm. RD/TSC 2015 Battalion Selection was conducted in Maharaja’s College. 3 cadets of our college were selected for RDC (Republic Day Camp) and 11 cadets for TSC (Thal Sainik camp). ANO Lt. Dr. Seleena K V was present for the selection . 23rd November 2013- 20 cadets from our college took part in the Grand Beach Cleaning Programme held at Fort Kochi as a part of NCC Day Celebrations conducted by Ernakulam Group. ANO Lt. Dr. Seleena K V was also present for the event. On the same day 8th Parade of the year was conducted in the college. More than 30 cadets attended the parade session. NCC4 30th November 2013 – 9th Parade of the academic year was conducted. Cultural Activities Training was given to cadets participating for the next camp. DECEMBER 2013 2nd December 2013- Regular Volley ball training is given to the cadets by Sgt. Aswathy Nandan and Cpl. Prabitha Lakshmi in preparation for the next camp. 4th December 2013- Cdt. Christina Pius and Cdt. Aleeta PC were selected for the BC (best Cadet) and YEP(Youth Exchange Programme) training (respectively) by the Commanding Officer Lt. NT Jose at the Battalion Level. 7th December 2013- 12 cadets attended the final battalion RD/TSC 2014-15 selection at Sacred Hearts College, Thevara. Cdt. Laveena Immanuel and Cdt. Krishna N was selected for TSC whereas Cdt. Christina Pius and Cdt. Aleeta P C for RDC. JUO Meenu Rebecca Mathai and Sgt. Pooja served as cadet instructors for RDC and TSC respectively. 20th December- 29th December 2013- 13 cadets attended the Combined Annual Training camp held at SNV(Skt)HSS North Paravoor. CQMS Anjana.K.V was chosen as the SW Camp Senior. She was also adjudged as the Best Senior Wing (SW) Cadet in the camp. L/Cpl Bhavya Raju won gold medal for a sports event conducted in the camp. 20th December-29th December 2013- Cdt. Laveena Immanuel and Cdt. Krishna attended the CATC camp held in Calicut as a part of TSC (Thal-Sainik Camp) selection. 21st December-30th December 2013 – 2 cadets (Cdt.Roshini Subash and Cdt. Christina Pius) attended the Combined Annual Training Camp held at Padoor ,Thrissur.Cdt. Christina Pius was awarded for her Best Performance in Drill.The camp was held as a part of RD (Republic Day) selection. JANUARY 2014 1st – 4th January 2014- 4 parades were conducted on consecutive days in the college premises in the afternoon. Parade conducted on Jan 4 th was regarded as the 13th Parade of the academic year. 4th January 2014- Our cadets participated in the SH NCC Mega Fest conducted in Sacred Heart College, Thevara and won prizes for the following events:
