The Department of Hindi, established in 1943 offers common course for the students of B.A/B.SC /B.Com. Besides striving to give the students an understanding of Hindi literature and helping them to achieve a level of practical communication which is ideal for everyday life, the department has contributed significantly in the field of Translation. Two minor projects on different aspects of translation have been successfully completed. A National Seminar has been organized on ‘Translation and Cultural Bridge ‘. The Faculty members have translated various literary works.

VISION

The department of Hindi envisions a life oriented language education that sensitizes the students towards social concerns and improves their proficiency in the national language

MISSION    

To give the students an understanding of Hindi literature and to help the students to achieve a level of practical communication which is ideal for every day life

Hindi Association

The  Hindi Association of St.Teresas College conducts literary fest in Hindi at the college level every academic year to identify and encourage young and aspiring writers and debators of the campus. We also offer training to talented students to win intercollegiate competitions. Programmes are organized to commemorate Hindi Week, Republic day and Independence  day in the College.

Hindi Association Report

MsVaishnaviVenu secured the Third prize in the All Kerala Intercollegiate Hindi Elocution competition conducted by Alphonsa College, Palai on 05-02-2016

The Hindi Association organized ‘SadbhavanaParv’ to commemorate the 67thRepublic day celebrations of our nation.Dr.Radhika P (HOD), Post graduate and research Department of Hindi, Dakshin Bharat Hindi PracharSabha was the chief guest. The Hindi students of St.Teresas College actively participated in the theme dance which displayed the dance forms and costumes of the people of various states of India.

          An intercollegiate group patriotic song competition for students was organized as part of the programme. Students of Bharatmata College, Thrikkakara secured the first place. The second prize was won by The Cochin College.
