The only course of its kind in Kerala

In this era of internationalization, it is important to think globally and act locally. India needs today fluent interlocutors, adept translators and savvy interpreters in foreign languages. In the face of this growing demand, the course aims at producing professionally competent young graduates in French language. It attempts to equip and empower the students with the skills of communication that are necessary for a self-reliant individual to grow and flourish in the global job-market. While imparting professional training, it also leaves the avenues open for higher studies.

Syllabus

Semester 1

Common Course – English – I Common Course – English – II Additional Language- French Language and Communications Skills-I Core Course – Methodology and Perspectives of Humanities in respect to French Language. Complementary Course -I Communicative English -1 Introduction to Phonetics and Conversational English

Semester 2

Common Course – English – III Common Course – English – IV Additional Language- French Language and Communications Skills-II Core Course – Foundation French- I Complementary Course -I Communicative English -2 Phonology of English and Communications Skills.

Semester 3

Common Course – English – V Additional Language- An Advance Course in French – I Core Course – Informatics Core Course – Foundation French- II Complementary Course -II Travel and Tourism – 1 Basics of Travel and Tourism.

Semester 4

Common Course – English – VI Additional Language- An Advance Course in French – II Core Course – Foundation French- III Core Course – La Vie Quotidienne Complementary Course -II Travel and Tourism – 2 Industrial Perspectives of Travel and Tourism

Semester 5

History and Culture of France – I French for Professional Communication – I Tourism in France – I Glimpses of Literature Open Course – Tourism and Hospitality Management.

Semester 6

History and Culture of France – II French for Professional Communication – II Tourism in France – II Translation and Interpretation Choice Based Course – Hotel Management in France. Project.

Complementary subjects: Communicative English & Travel & Tourism. “On The Job Training ” in the second year is an exclusive feature of the programme.
